Trotsky was more of a Leninist and Lenin was more of a marxist. Stalin was a leader who ruled based on his whim not communism or marxism. Collective Farms WTF? Marx clearly supported individual land ownership. Communial but not owned by the state owned by people collectively similar to hippies during the 1960s.

Trotsky wanted to export the Bolshevik Revolution, fomenting and supporting Communist revolutions in other countries, and aiding them with the Red Army if necessary to ensure their success and the establishment of new Communist regimes and states.
Stalin wanted to concentrate on Socialism in One Country – industrializing Russia, and strengthening the Communist grip on Russia and its population.
