Kerensky favoured a continuation of the war against Germany. In 1917 the western allies almost collapsed under the strain of their failures, there were even mutinies in the French army. Had Kerensky made peace in March 1917, he may have survived but the influx of troops from the Eastern Front may have led to a German victory
