ANY TIME IS GOOD FOR VODKA. Eat it in the traditional way, with lemons and onions, or straight up. Stolichnaya is the best.

Who the heck said it's never chilled?
Maybe there are different ways of drinking in the different regions of Russia, though I've never heard of that. My family is all Russian and we traditionally drink our vodka straight and straight out of the freezer. I get soft and have it on the rocks with lime twist sometimes, but that isn't traditional. At my great grandmother's funeral in 2004 whoever planned the lunch afterwards wasn't thinking and didn't freeze the vodka so 200 Russians sat down and refused to drink it, which we all know would have made gramma angry! So one of the people who were there went home and got all of his and his wife's vodka from their freezer and 'exchanged' it for the ones on the tables, haha, it was really a weird thing to happen at a funeral.

For breakfast or with any other meal it is drunk from small jiggers at one gulp, it is never chilled and usually accompanied by fatty food to counteract the effect. I grew up in Russia and Poland and watched people drink and came to hate the stuff. I drink only wine.
