Question by Lover: Were Roman Abramovich’s two ex-wives Jewish?
I know that Abramovich’s current wife Dasha is half Jewish but identifies with it more than her father’s Christian religion. But what were his two ex-wives? Were they also Jews? Or were they something else?
Is it common for Jews to marry non-Jews in Russia?

Hard to say: I ran both Russians and English webs. there is no information on either of them.
Back in Soviet Union time, there were mixed marriages, sometimes out of desperation, sometime for love. Lots of my family members married non-Jews. they still great relatives of mine. Most of us did not practice Judaism, so we were Jews by nationality not by religion. Here in the States, we are called Russians. Because we speak Russian and because we came from the USSR, doesn’t matter which part.

Used to be quite common until there were more Jews in Russia (USSR). They were 2 million, now they are 200 thousand. All fled to US and Israel in 90-s, and now call themselves ‘Russians’ LOL.
And there are very few ‘true’ Jews here – they in fact marry in their community.
idk about Abramovich, never been interested, sorry…
