Question by LoveMaker L: What are Russia man like? How is the dating world in russia?
I am moving to russia, am single, also I never been there and grew up american. So I am just curious how the dating world is over there and how are russian men?
Just wondering is there any different culture? Not sure how to describe it

Wow, an American woman going to live in Russia. You need to leave your feminist ways behind, and learn to be traditional. I hope your beautiful, because you will be shocked at how beautiful Russian women are, also women dress very different there, and Russian women are very competitive with each other.
I'm an American man that lived in Russia for 2yrs, and I now have a Russian wife.

Very different. Although it's true that American Men get a lot of attention in Russia from women, it does not work the same way for American Women. Today's younger generation may care less that you don't speak Russian, or that you were not born in the former Soviet Union, compared to those in their 30's and 40's, nevertheless, they seek for someone who is traditional, a woman who simply is happy to be a woman, and do not want to compete with men. It's true that most Russian Men, in serious and even casual relationships prefer someone who is not only sexy, but also smart, yet they don't want the woman to challenge their ego and intelligence too much 🙂 They like it when a woman is a bit helpless sometimes.
I could say that most Russian Men are a bit Chauvinistic. They expect the woman to do everything, or most chores at home. Therefore for them it's very important, even if they are not sure whether to take your relationship seriously, that the woman knows how to cook, iron clothes, and other domestic works, regardless of your educational attainment or economic status. Also, most of them are not loyal, and they don't expect the woman to complain when they "go to the left". You have to care about your looks, and always dress your best, in order for them to notice you.
Often Russian Men could treat you like a princess if they like you, or if they want to conquer you in ways you have only read in women's Romance Novels. At least you won't get "surprises", about being asked out to a dinner date and end up paying for your share. It happened to me with one Italian guy. It was a big turn off, and that was the first and last time I went out with him. He called me several times, but I never returned the call. It's flattering to be with them, if you are used only to the American Dating scene.

dating world in russia is much like it was in prehistoric times. expect to get a bear-skin shuba as an engagement present. your fiance has to kill a bear to prove he is a man. it's a tradition.
