Question by sheltiepaw: What are some names of famous eugenicists during stalin’s reign in russia?
I am interested in learning about the eugenicists during the time of Stalin’s rein in Russia, and I would like them to be Russian as well. If someone could help me by supplying some of the major names that would be very nice, as I am trying to research them on the internet and finding it to be a bit difficult.

Eugenics were not promoted in the Soviet Union. There were no mainstream Soviet academics who used these “theories”.
However, there was a programme designed to create a new kind of human – Homo Sovieticus.
The way that the new human would emerge, it was thought, was through a mixture of several factors:
The removal of class division and competition.
Through education and learning Marxist-Leninist doctrine.
Through the arts.
Through the collective labour of the “broad toiling masses” of the Soviet Union.
There was some debate as to whether or not ALL the workers of the World were required to live under Soviet Union, or under Soviet style conditions.
The nearest that the Soviet Union had to a eugenicist was the quack geneticist Lysenko. Lysenko rejected Mendelian genetics, fraudulently fabricating the results of experiments. However, Lysenko only worked in the agricultural fields, and did not experiment with human biology.
