Your local gun shop will be in a much better position to answer this then anyone here.

I dont know much about the answer to your question but how about AMERICAN made…support the U.S. before outsiders.

Get the Russian, the Russians are good at making weapons and I think they designed the first AK weapon. Oh, and please please PLEASE stay away from my house. Assault weapons in the hands of 18-year-olds really frighten me.
One final thought: Once you buy the weapon, who are you going to kill? And if you're not going to kill anyone, why do you need a gun?

They are all very nice weapons regardless which one you pick but you must think What will you be doing with the AK? Shooting at targets at home or range? hunting? etc
I think most states only let you buy *semi* automatics. We had semi automatic and I think fully automatic you gotta be certified or something to buy one like a cop or fbi agent.
I have a buddy who owns two ak's and we go to his land in West VA and hunt deer with them, if you are able to do this it's really worth the effort.

It depends on your state. A gun store (or pawn shop) should be able to answer the legalities for your area. Note that it is unlikely you will (legally) be able to purchase a weapon that hasn't been modified to remove the fully auto selection.
That is a very aggressive weapon. Other than whatever 'coolness' factor you hope to get, it has no real practical purpose.
I would stay away from the Chineese versions — You would hate to have a child play with it and get harmed by lead paint. 🙂

State To State….Russian

1. First decide why you want one.
2. It doesn't matter what the nation was that produced it… they are all pretty much the same. In fact, you can interchange their parts…
3. It's a cool weapon only if your interested in military weapons. If you're interested in shooting for sport, it's a poor choice.
4. The Legalities…? That depends on where you live.

If you are not familiar with the various types, then the time is not right for you to buy one.
Gun ownership is a major responsibility. I see far too many people who do not know how to properly operate or properly care for their rifles.
Maybe you should start with a less aggressive weapon. A less complicated weapon would be easier for you to care for and operate.
