Anton Chekhov, my favorite short story writer. This is what I think the quote means, "You are the one who can stretch your own horizon; you are the person responsible if that horizon is small"–Edgar F. Magnin
Julie says
I don't think it means man is what he believe in, but what man believes he believes he IS!
If a man believes he's wretched creature worthy of nothing, then that is what he is! If he feels he's a valuable member of society with great potential, then that is what he is! (or is because thats what he will become or has become) This applys to anyone, if you think you're stupid and can't handle college and are only fit to serve fries at mcdonalds, then thats what you will do, but if you think you can go to college and become a doctor, then you'll do that! Believing what you can do it paramount to making it happen.
