Question by Christy: What are the factors that effect the life expectancy in Russia?
The life expectancy age at birth is 66 in Russia.
Are there any factors that cause it to be like this, like disease or something?
Please give sources if you know anything.
Thank you very much!

Currently it is because of drinking and violence and drugs that the average male’s life expectancy is so low compared to women in Russia.

I've also lived in Russia for a couple of years and I do agree, life expectancy isn't good.
The main factors are poverty, also caused by poor social security benefits, alcoholism, poor quality healthcare and a high accident rate. Health and Safety regulations are unheard of in Russia.
Many people live a difficult life and some choose to drink themselves to death because vodka is very cheap.
The weather can be very harsh and living conditions are much lower than in mainland Europe or the US.

I lived in Russia for 3yrs working as a government contractor, and from what I've seen there are 2 main reasons. The first is simply vodka, they drink very heavy. The second reason is most men don't have the money for health care. They're economy is very different from ours, they don't have a middle class, in Russia, your either poor or rich, there is no middle. So of course there are more poor people then rich, and it takes everything these men make to provide for their families, so health care for the men, is just out of the question.
