Question by regalsegal: What is a good book to read to learn about the history of the USSR?
I want to understand the personal relationships and philosophies of the various players of the USSR between the late 19th century and mid twentieth century -e.g. marx, engels, lenin, stalin, kruschev. I just finished reading John Adams so I am looking for something provocative and interesting, not just a dry history book.
