What is one long term effect that is a result of the collapse of the Soviet Union. I have plenty of immediate effects but as for long term, I am coming up blank!

unstable political military dictatorships in Africa. because during the cold war the US and USSR provided economic help to try and convince Africa to be capitalist and the best way to do this was with a military dictator with the guidance of the US or USSR. HOwever, once the USSR collapsed, help was pulled out of Africa leaving unstable governments ruled by military dictators, causing today a very unnationalized continent.
