Actually distilled beverages DO "go off" if you leave them around opened for a long time. It's certainly true for bourbon and scotch. Vodka has very little flavor to go bad.
For a few weeks storage, just put the cap on. I'd use the freezer if you want to store them for months..

There is a wonderful invention called the bottle top, screw it onto the bottle and then leave bottle in an upright position
