His wife – indirectly. She is forever worrying about the house. One day while hanging drapes for her, he falls and injures himself. Doctors cannot find any reason for his illness, but he is eventually pronounced terminal. The diagnosis alone sends him into a downward spiral that kills him. In reality, his illness is what is called a “floating kidney” So you can blame his wife and the power of suggestion. Pax – C
