What kinds of crops were grown in Russia during the 1700’s? What did the economy consist of during the reign of Catherine the Great?

Vast majority agricultural–serfdom was still in full swing, and Russia was not until quite recently much of an industrial country–and at that time most of the world was agricultural still.

As far as crops… wheat, barley, oats, buckwheat, cabbage, etc. Taking a look at traditional Russian food–especially of the peasant classes, as the nobility often imported French cooks–should help you a bit.
