They are typically served with plenty of sour cream, less commonly with apple sauce, and the savory ones are often topped with fried bacon or cooked onions.

I really like the idea of a sweet or sour sauce – say plum or perhaps a pickle sauce. Both sorta remind me of Polish food.

Mushroom Sauce
4 tablespoon Butter
10 ounce Button mushrooms; sliced
1 medium Onion; chopped
2 tablespoon Sour cream
In a medium skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced mushrooms and stir until they are coated with butter. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and saute until the onions are soft and the mushrooms begin to give up their liquid. Remove the skillet from heat and add the sour cream and stir until just combined.
Orange-Soy Dipping Sauce
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup orange juice
4 tsp. rice wine vinegar
1-1/2 tsp. finely minced crystallized ginger
1 Tbsp. Asian hot chili oil
2 tsp minced garlic
In a small bowl, combine all ingredients.
Hope these help!
