What to do in Moscow besides party in nightclubs?

Question by cosmopolman: What is there to do in Moscow besides party in nightclubs?
My company is considering sending me there. I know the club nightlife is great, but when I get sick of it, what else can I look forward to outside of work? BTW, I’m a guy in my 30’s, so that might influence your answer.
Note, that I understand the “touristic” things to do, but I’m talking about living there for a few years. One visit to the Kermlin, the museum, and the metro will be sufficient. Then what do I do for the rest of the 700+ days I’m there?

I would join a mushroom hunting club, the woods of Russia are teeming with wild mushrooms. If you are interested in history, the capital is full of places to go: museums, churches, and historical buildings. The Moscow subway system is fantastic. St. Petersburg is a train ride away and a beautiful weekend side trip. I think once you get there and meet some people you will have no problem finding things to do.

Yes, you will run out of touristy things to do within a couple of months, that’s why you should consider joining some groups or clubs. Whether the clubs are within the American expatriate community or local Russian groups that have some bilingual capabilities, you will need to socialize if you are going to enjoy your assignment in Moscow.

Moscow is a wonderful place. There are unending exciting things to see and do. It is also one of the most interesting historic and cultural center in the world. Please visit it . God bless you.
    P.S.
Moscow is also modern and one of the funny places in the world. There are river, lakes, parks, botanic gardens, Zoo, circuses, forests with preserved nature, a lot of places for recreation & entertainment. Showrooms, sports stadiums, pools, the rowing channel, bicycle track, squares for productive leisure. Big cinemas and concert halls, large shops and malls with entertaining centres for every age. Night life (you are not interested in) with great scale of restorances, casinos etc. It's worth seeing clubs and holday centers in the suburbs of the grand city
You should only adapt to Moscow weather and people. But I'm sure you'd like Moscow.
    Good Luck!!!
