so that lenin could have complete control of Russia because with the Czar alive he still had many supporters so the only way that Lenin could end the war and have complete power was to kill the Romanovs

Remember that at the time Russia was in the middle of a vicious Civil War with the 'White' Russians, or supporters of the Tsar in control of large areas of the country. The White Russians were very near Ekaterinburg where the Romanovs were killed and, indeed, they took the town just a few days after those killings. Had they freed the Tsar and the rest of his family, they would have been a point around which those fighting the Bolshevists could have rallied. Even though Nicholas II was a completely useless Tsar.

With the royal family gone Lenin would bring Marxism into Russia thus creating a Communist state. Which he did, So instead of being ruled by the Czars the people were now ruled by a small body of bureaucrats. So no matter what happened the rebellion in Russia replaced one ruling class (the czars) with another ruling class (the communists). Today Russia is free in name only. Under Putin who headed the KGB the communists still control Russia and very few true freedoms exist for the average Russian citizen.

To get rid of them so no one would try to bring them back. Plus, Lenin's brother was executed for making an attempt on the royal family. Could have been revenge.

So a royalist party couldn't stage a come-back and would have no one to place on the throne.
Since the discovery of the bodies, there is movement in some of the Greek Orthodox community to have them declared saints. The ruling house of Russia had (has) a near mystic effect on some people.
