Question by satch: What was the reasoning for executing the whole Romanov family. I do not understand that?
I just watched Nicholas and Alexandra and could not understand why they killed the whole family. Why the girls and the young boy especially? Can anyone please give me the reasoning behind it?

So that no heir could ever reclaim the throne and disenfranchise the revolutionaries once the dust settled. It’s barbaric and disgusting but common.

Jason is totally correct. Usually revolutionaries and guerillas don't give a flying f_u_c_k about dynasties and stuff. That kind of reasoning explains why so many people lost their heads in the Reign of Terror phase of the French Revolution and why the Romanov children were not spared.
