Benefits for the working class before world war two under Stalin.

Most of them had a guaranteed job, a room to live in and hopefully some food. They had NO personal responsibility OR liability for ANYTHING. If they complained they were shot or shipped off.

The only advantage was that you could get rid of pesky neighbours, in-laws etc. by ratting on them, even if they hadn't done anything wrong.

Absolutely none. Stalin was a brutal leader that killed off all his political competition, not to mention the millions of innocent citizens of his country. Many scholars believe that Stalin killed more than Hitler ever did. If you're looking for an argument to justify that the worker fares better under a communist regime, this is the wrong place to look for examples.
