What’s the distance between the Nevksky Prospekt and the Neva River?

Question by Cattie: Distance between the Nevksky Prospekt and the Neva River?
I’m writing a short story that takes place in Russia and I wanted to double-check if my geography was right. If you are in St. Petersburg, can you see both the Nevsky Prospekt and the Neva River? To my knowledge the Nevksky is a is the main avenue of St. Petersburg but I wanted to make sure.

Nevsky Prospect ends at Admiralteysky Prospect in front of the Admiralty. If you stood at the end of Nevsky Prospect, the Admiralty would be between you and the Neva River.

To go to Neva you would have to walk towards the Dvotzevaya Square, and bear left on Dvortzevoy Proezd, past the Winter Palace.

Your better look up at google maps. What do you mean by 'see'? The both ends of the Nevsky Prospekt are close to the Neva river, the one place was mentioned in the previous answer, the other is the Alexander Nevsky square near the Alexander Nevsky Lavra (the monastery). I guess standing there you can see both the Prospekt and the river with a bridge across it. But the point is that the part of the Prospekt between the AN square and the Vosstania square near Moscow Rail Terminal is not that prominent if compare to the part between the same Terminal and the Dvortsovaya Square. It's narrow, less sights, etc. I suggest that you look up the maps.
P.S. And the point is – no, for the most part you can't see the Neva river from the Nevsky Prospekt .
