This is traditional Borscht the Jewish way (also my mothers way), Ukranian Borsch would also include beef or pork meat and stock.
Combine everything and let it simmer until the potatoes and cabbage are tender.
2 jars of store made borscht base either Gold's or Mrs. Adler's (its a pickled beet mix) or regular pickled beets with
2-3 cups approx. shredded green and red cabbage and carrots
2 medium potatoes
1 tablespoon Vegeta seasoning
salt, lemon- pepper, or sugar if you like your Borscht sweeter tasting
Serve with sourcream and dark wheat bread.
