Question by Searching: Does anyone know where i can find a DVD of “The Nose” by Shostakovich?
I’m looking for a DVD of the Opera, “The Nose” by Dmitri Shostakovich. I’ve looked on Amazon and ebay, as well as doing an internet search for it. Does anyone know where i can obtain a staged DVD version of this opera?
My question is speculative; I am unaware if a DVD of this opera actually exists. I am aware that there are few different CDs available and hat the Met is doing it this year, but unfortunately it’s not part of their Live HD series, so it won’t be coming out from them anytime soon.

I don’t want to sound too grumpy
Nothing from my returns so far, from Germany in particular, where ‘Die Nase’ had considerable vogue at one time, indicates that such a DVD exists at all.
If you could clarify this, that would be a great help.
All the best,

I don't believe there is a (commercially available) video recording of The Nose. It's been awhile since I've searched, so it's possible that something has been released that I don't know about…but I think your search will be in vain. Sorry!!
(Too bad, really, because it's some really cool music)

I would presume that you've checked on You Tube? Just in case you haven't, here's two videos relating to it you may find interesting:
((one would think that the entire opera would have been taped)) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb5vhGzXzoo&fe…
((this is it would seem, is at least one scene from it)) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXXsrDFLX1o
