Where can I get an original AK-47?

Question by AlexB: Where can I get an original AK-47 or drawings for one?
The enterprise I work for is currently in need of an original, fully machined AK-47 (1948-1952 model)
and an AKS-47. Since I live in California I realize this would be very difficult to obtain so I would also like to know where I could obtain the drawings for it.

Well im from bulgaria and we are one of the top exporters of AK-47 one of the best actually better than the current russian models … on a side note bulgaria is full of corruption so if you have the money and the contacts shouldnt be to hard to get your hands on the schematics or arrange a sale of the model.

An AK47 is a named model on the list of banned assault weapons in CA. Removing the pistol grip will not make it legal in CA. To have a legal AK in CA it must be an off-list weapon and not meet the description of an assault weapon.

what you can do is to buy the gun outside of California, remove"assault rifle" features like the pistol grip and bring it into CA and it'll be legal. quite a bit of footwork but if its for a company or enterprise, I'm sure they'll understand. (semiauto)

drawings you may be able to obtain them online, as the form of a schematic. things from receiver blanks to barrel dimensions.

if you want to you can research this possibility: can a milled AK (non-wasr) take a WASR trigger/sear assembly? There is a thing I stumbled upon with my wasr-10 that can allow it to work in selective full auto, selective semiautomatic fire modes. I'll drop you a hint: have the sear just miss catching the hammer between rounds

I came across a web site once that has full blueprints and design details for russian weaponry. If I come across it I'll let you know.

Oops, sorry gojuryu for the thumbs down. Forgot this poor fellow lives in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia. To the question, you aren't seriously thinking about building an AK from scratch? In many states, you may purchase a full auto AK, provided you jump through the hoops that the BATFE mandates. Not sure about Kalifornia. I think you're pretty much screwed out there.
