Where do I get the Russian visa for a US citizen?

Question by 773ER: Where do I get the visa for Russia for a US citizen?
I am planning on going to moscow in july with my parents for a vacation, which I am hearing isn’t really a good idea but I am still excited. What all do I need as far as visas from america? Where can I get them, how long does it usually take? Also does anyone know how much the tax or other charge is for entering or leaving Russia. Many thanks guys 🙂

You need to see the site below and read the section on “Entry requirements.” It is a very long section, because getting a visa to travel to Russia is very complicated. There are many restrictions. You and your parents need to apply now for your visas as it can take several weeks at least to get the visas. Use the 2nd site to get all the visa application information and find the nearest consulate to you.

I advice you to get in contact a Russian embassy or consulate to apply for visas. (Bert has a good answer.) Do it fast, because these things take time. Hope you will get your visas for Russia. Russia is quite interesting and exiting, so it´s not at all a bad idea to visit Russia. (I´m not Russian, but find the country well worth while visiting!) There is no taxes or other charges, if things haven´t changed since I was there.

Hope you get your visas (I´m sure you do, if you start applying for them as soon as possible), enjoy your visit in Russia!
