Question by languagegirl86: Which alphabet should you use when sending a letter to Russia?
On the front of the envelope should you use the Latin (English) alphabet, or the Cyrillic (Russian) alphabet?
In England they won’t be able to read the Cyrillic, for sure. But in Russia could they read the Latin one?
Thanks

You can use Latin letters without any problem whatsoever. Mail was delivered in the ex-USSR that way, and it is such in contemporary Russia, too.

You write your address in English, and write ENGLANDat the last line. then in the receiver's address space you Write RUSSIA with large letters, ant the rest in cyrillic.
