Question by OJ: Which is better: Absolut, Stolichnaya, or Smirnoff?
I’ve tried Absolut and Stolichnaya vodka (neat), but I haven’t tried Smirnoff. Is it better than Absolut and/or Stolichnaya?

Absolut, no doubt about it it is absolutely the best!
The flavored ones are nice also

Smirnoff in Canada: nasty

Absolut if straight up, or with just club soda/lime juice. The other 2 give me a headache.
If you are mixing into a cocktail you won’t notice any difference smooth wise (but I still get a headache….)

Smirnoff and Absolut are on par with each other. Rubbish. I haven’t tried Stolichnaya unmixed however.
The first time I ever made White Russians was with a bottle of Belvedere vodka. It’s a little pricier, but my lord it’s in an entirely different league to Absolut, which I’ve tried more recently, and made the White Russians have the cheap vodka tang and aftertaste.
Belvedere is where it’s at if you’re going to be mixing with anything other than soft drink. I’ve heard good things about Grey Goose too.

Stolichnaya is my personal fave. Being Russian (in Canada) my family is very picky about what kinds of vodka we drink. When I visit my parents in my hometown I always visit their neighbourhood store to get some of my favourite which doesn't really have a name in english because it's from Russia and there is no english on the label, otherwise I'd give you the name for it. Absolut is good, and I think (so does every single Russian friend and family member) that Smirnoff is the cheapest, nastiest vodka out there. I'd rather drink my own urine than the American-trying-to-pass-as-Russian Smirnoff. Nothing wrong with American booze, but don't pass it off as something it isn't. The flavoured Stolichnayas are good too!

I like Stoli, especially chilled.

I love the taste of the flavored stoli's, especially peach…however, smirnoff is better on the pockets and it gives you a really good buzz!

Vodka in the USA is, by definition, pure alcohol diluted with water. It's essentially odorless, flavorless, colorless (unless you're dealing with one of those infused ones).
Discussing the differences in flavor between different labels of pure vodka strikes me as similar to arguing the differences between the 1964, 1965, and 1966 Volkswagen Beetle.
Tell you what: go to a bar and ask the bartender to pour a shot of each while you're not looking; then taste each (get some soda water to cleanse the palate between tastings) and figure out if you think one is better. Then ask the barkeep what brands are in which glass. Then you'll know for sure what you think. (And if you can't really tell the difference, then don't fool yourself–just go buy the cheapest one from now on.)

Absolute is the most popular and the smoothed then stoli then smirnoff. Smirnoff is great for mixed drinks. Enjoy
