Question by Amber: Which is the best book on the last Czar/Tsar of Russia?
So my Mom very recently got very interested in that period of time for Russia, after we went to exhibit about the Romanov family. For Christmas I’m going to buy her a Faberge type egg considering the Romanovs made them famous. I also wanted to get her book on the history of Russia at that time, particularly about Czar Nicholas II and his family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend anything by Robert K Massie. His books bring the times and people to life and are very readable.
There are some other suggestions on these sites, too.
If your mother is interested in the history of Old Russia under the Tsars (and before), I love Suzanne Massie’s “Land of the Firebird”, which also includes some wonderful pictures.
