Question by d_qball2: Which Russian fairy tale has an illustration of a woman in a blue dress looking into water?
When I was in Kiev a couple weeks ago I bought a jewelry box painted with a scene from a Russian fairytale on it. The scene was of a young woman in a blue dress looking wistfully into water, although I can’t remember if it was a lake or a stream. Any help would be grateful as I got it for a friend and would love to tell her more about it. Thanks for the help!

The tale wouldn’t matter. The publisher can decide where to put any picture. You’d need to know who printed it to know where the jewelry box picture got copied from. The box should have the maker’s name on it somewhere; you could write and ask.
