Question by Hello Again: As an aspiring Air Force officer, which would be better to learn, Chinese or Russian?
I’ve read several questions and answers about Chinese v. Russian, but I’m still unsure. I’d like to learn Russian in particular because I love to read, and some of my favorite books were originally Russian. But I also know that Chinese is the bigger business language, and if you’re going to do that, Mandarin is the way to go. Trying to exclude China’s advantage in that area, which is the better choice?

I would contact an Air Force recruiter and ask. Not only would they know they answer, but would probably have a lot of other helpful suggestions as well. They know what the Air Force is looking for and might be able to give you some good pointers that could really help you succeed in getting in. Years ago I heard that the Air Force was the hardest to get into, so any assistance they could give you would be beneficial.
