Question by JoshZ: Name an author who has a similar style to that of Boris Pasternak.?
I mean, in a negative way. (not to say i dislike his writing). Who’s known for a style that’s similarly filled with seemingly neverending & unnecessary exposition. Don’t mention Dickens because Pasternak’s not quite (overly) flowery, at least in my opinion.

Lord of the Rings has exposition to no end! However, I never finished the trilogy — too much exposition! So I don’t know if the styles are all that similar or not.
Yet Pasternak was born in 1890 and Tolkien was born in 1892. Many writers of the early 20th Century seem to have a similar style: dry, flowery, old-fashioned.
I hope this helps.
