Kerensky was interim President of Russia before the Communists consolidated power.
He fled Russia and came to the U. S. and was a professor at either Yale or Harvard.
Cheka was the precursor to the KGB and NKVD, it was the first state security system of Russia.

Alexander Kerensky was a Russian politician who was head of the Social Revolutionary Party. He is most famous for being head of the Provisional Government in 1917 until it was overthrown by the Bolshevik Revolution in Oct. 1917.
The Cheka was Lenin's secret police. When they were active they crushed all political opponents of the Bolsheviks and ran the infamous Gulags.
