Where in London can I buy real caviar ?
Dmitry says
Red caviar = roe of salmon. Black caviar = roe of sturgeon.
!! The harvest and sale of black caviar have been banned in
Russia since August 1, 2007. The ban extends for 10 years, but scientific research and the artificial breeding of black caviar fish are exempted.
The cheapest red caviar, I bought a year ago in the far east. The city Birobidzhane.
300 rub ($ 12) per kilo.
Alex N says
well, I tasted 3 kinds of real black caviar. Not really exciting! food like food, besides it's not for veggies. What about prices – it's a real mess. In Russia prices depend mainly of seller's dreams. Really, think what kind of system money is if somebody pays $ 10, somebody pays $ 1000 and somebody pays nothing for the same thing?
Czar says
Its always expensive, where ever you get: Russia or something else.
I don't think their is a difference in cost between black and red. Red is more common is Russian dishes. Its also smaller than black caviar.
jim says
Salmon roe is bigger than sturgeon roe…just letting you know.
