China and Russia are pushing for it heavily, more than any other nation in the UN. A global currency would logically be better than an Amero, but its not being pushed by the Western elitists id go as far as saying it would spoil their plans.
[They want a global currency in every continent and from there slowly transverse public minds into becoming more open of international governance. By then they could easily join all 5 Multi national continents.]
Franklin says
What do you mean "why." The article makes it pretty clear why. Can't you read the article yourself?
By the way, this is not going to replace the dollar in the United States. Several countries have been trying for years to replace the dollar as the international RESERVE currency (not that you know what that means). It just means that other countries will not be required to hold US dollars in reserve, but instead will hold this new currency (which will only be used for financial reserve in trade, and not by everyday people anywhere). Other countries want this because they lost billions of dollars due to fluctuation in the US dollar over the last few years. Instead they want trade in things like oil to be based on a currency which is pegged to several world currencies, making it MUCH more stable. They are just trying to protect their own financial systems.
Now go read a book on foreign exchange.

And Harper and Brown are saying there needs to be global governance of the financial sector and Obama is proposing the consistent financial sector changes here without a whisper that it fits into that scheme.
Franklin, we know precisely what a 'reserve' currency is, and that the dollar currently is it, and what replacing it would do to the dollar.
