Why should we be so scared of Russia?

Question by Lord Britain: Why exactly are we scared of Russia?
May I just ask why anyone is scared of russia. Just looking at the stats Nato accounts for 70% of the worlds military expenditure, 6 nato members have a larger economy than russia, and 3 nato members possess nuclear weapons. Why are we getting scared of Russia?

They have THOUSANDS of Thermo-Nuclear Weapons… maaaaaybe that has just a little bit to do with it. Also, they have detonated the LARGEST Hydrogen bomb in history.

About the Tsar Bomb, “The fireball touched the ground, reached nearly as high as the altitude of the release plane, and was seen and felt almost 1,000 km (621 miles) from ground zero. The heat from the explosion could have caused third degree burns 100 km (62 miles) away from ground zero. The subsequent mushroom cloud was about 64 km (40 miles) high (nearly seven times higher than Mount Everest) and 40 km (25 miles) wide. The explosion could be seen and felt in Finland, even breaking windows there.”

Russia still wields a commanding leverage with many nations, especially those who have historically not warmed up to the West and the USA specifically.

They are a permanent member of the Security Council in the UN for a reason, and the leading nuclear power along with the USA.

War should be avoided with Russia at all costs.

They are a very large country with a powerful army, navy, and air force, with a vast array of nuclear weapons. Maybe that’s the reason.

although their conventional military forces are outdated, underfunded, and under trained, russia possesses the second highest amount of nukes in the world, along with a very unstable and historically corrupt government. it only takes one nuke to kill millions of people, not to mention the fact that thousands (russia has approx 8,500) could easily kill everyone in the world dozens of times over. should one (if not all) of those nukes fall into the wrong hands, is your answer.

Russia has huge economic potential. If to constrain it Russia begins №1 in the world. It does not want the USA and NATO. On this they arrange provocations (Georgia, Litvinenko) and speaking that Russia malicious unpredictable and aggressive. It is called ” Restraint of Russia “.
