Question by kollydogg: Why does smirnoff produce vodka in russia with a different strength?
My friend got me a russian bottle or smirnoff vodka and it was 43% she said they do another one which is 55%.
Has anyone seen them before?

Yes, a higher proof is available overseas. In the states, there’s just 80p, 90p and 100p.

Different proofs for differnt market areas. The Russian prefers the higher / stronger one and usually stores it in the freezer!

No self respecting Russian would get a buzz off the well water we call vodka. Their pallets are far too refined to the hard stuff.

When vodka or liquor is made anywhere it's original alc content is close to 100%, then it's diluted with water to make it palatable.
They offer different strengths for different country's tastes!
