Question by : Would communism have been different under Lenin?
I know that communism under Stalin was really grim, but do you think it would have been different if Lenin didn’t die, Lenin himself even said he didn’t want Stalin in power because he was so extreme.

Yep.
But still Lenin ordered killings. BUT that was mainly because he got to power thru a revolution and thus he tried to prevent another revolution that would overthrow him(imho). Not like Stalin who was like “I don’t like your face, thus you are now Gulag material.”

Possibly, but any system that can only function properly under one specific ruler is doomed (in more ways that one). Any country can get stuck with a poor leader, but whether that’s a rare inconvenience or an inevitable tragedy depends on how leaders are chosen and how much power is concentrated at the top.

This is the problem with communism. When the leader dies usually the strongest, most aggressive @ss who is the most powerful usually wins.
