Wtat’s a good book about the Romanov Grand Duchesses?

Question by ĵrenée♥: A good book about the Romanov Grand Duchesses?
** I want the book to be non-fiction but I would also be interested in any fiction books that have a story line tied in with the Romanov Duchesses. Thanks 🙂
I have always been interested in the Romanov family and all the books I have found have been about there death or just about Czar Nicholas and his wife. I was wondering if there was a book just on the grand duchesses? Or any of them? Thanks in advance 🙂

awesome question! i don’t have any ideas to offer you on this but this is such an interesting topic and i’m definitely going to keep an eye on the answers and read anything that looks good!

something similar to the grand duchesses is Anna Karenina by Tolstory. there is not anything about the GD’s but it’s about the upper classes and it follows some princes and princesses in Russia in the 19th century, it’s a great read!

Robert K. Massie is your guy! Hes non fiction historian but incredibly interesting. With the first book by him I had the slight misconception that most non-fiction books are boring but this one was no less than fascinating and utterly engrossing. His style of writing is great. All the little bits and pieces of the Romanov's lives are laid out in his books. Hes won a lot of awards and a few movies have been based on his books too, if that gives him any more merit.

I've read Nicholas and Alexandra by him and it was really good. I was looking for info on Rasputin at the time and this book had the most information I've ever seen in one place on him besides the biography his daughter wrote for him.
