Question by TheRAT: Is there such a thing as an AK47 with good long range accuracy?
I mean an AK47 with good overall accuracy, much like an m4. I am looking for all the perks of an AK (easy to clean, no jams, more power than m4) with good long range accuracy. Much like a mix between an AR-15/M4 and an AK47.

You obviously are not from California.
With all due respect if someone like you were to reside in California the residents of this Godforsaken place would have to pop extra anti-depressants just to make it through the day.
You would be contributing to an already out of control problem regarding the abuse of prescripted medications.
But to answer your question why not just go for the AR-15 it’s an excellent gun with very little recoil and all the power you need for long range.
And its accurate and is just a great gun any way you look at it.

The AK is very reliable, but was never designed or improved to provide long-range accuracy. The ammunition which is available for it is cheap and inconsistent. The barrel is relatively short. If you want something with accuracy at long range, get a weapon with a longer barrel and something which shoots ammo that is not basically sold by the ton. I would suggest the M1A1 at around $ 900-$ 1000, which is the civilian version of the M-14. This is a very nice piece and is a marksman's weapon, as evidenced by the M-14's use as a sniper weapon in Iraq during the current war.

A good soldier with a lot of practice can do well with that type of weapon.

Not in my opinion and experience.
Now there are versions using different calibers (5.45×39, and even .223) that will extend the effective range out to 400 yards or so, but I don't think there is ever precision in terms of tight shot groups. That cycling rod above the barrel that insures reliable cycling, also shakes the gun and throws off accuracy.
The AK-47 is about firepower and reliability, not precision accuracy.
I can tell you it's a lot more fun to shoot than an M-16.
Now I will tell you that I had an M-16 in the Army, 3 of them in fact for each of my 3 different deployments. All were jam-o-matics, just crap.
Accuracy and handling were great, far superior to the AK-47. But if I fired more than 50 rounds from my M-16 without cleaning, I could expect jamming, and jamming can be fatal in war.
Maybe the M-16's and M-4's are better today, but I wouldn't trust one with my life. Okay range gun, though.
