Yep, there are 24 books/plays/collections by Chekhov at Project Gutenberg, link above… I didn’t count any in German or about him.
(ADD: –though there are a few of those there, too.)
I figure all his work is in public domain since he died in 1904, and one good source to check such a thing is always gutenberg.org…
