    No. The Germans reached the Volga in the vicinity of Rynok south of Stalingrad, and interdicted soviet river traffic at that point. They didn't cross the volga.

    of course they did- they reached the river and scouts must have been sent to the other side- standard military practice

    and a little later a few hundred thousand others followed- on their way to Siberia

    No, at least not officially. In fact the only place they reached the Volga was in the immediate area of and inside the city of Stalingrad.
