Question by sveum: Does the Transiberian rail line (between Novosibirsk and Irkutsk) go through the Republic of Tuva? ?
I took it a few years ago and am now being asked if I have been to Tuva!
According to the map, it looks like the the straightest connection would just touch the northern section of the region, but I can’t find any info on the web to confirm.

No. There are no railroads in Tyva – yet. One is planned, to export coal.
