Question by crazykate4u: In the film, “Stolen Years,” some people survived the GULAG. How did they manage to do that?
It is is the film, but I don’t remember!

The Gulags were not death camps, they were prisons and work camps, that’s not to say that many didn’t die – they did, from cold, hunger and overwork, and some were executed in them. The vast majority of people imprisoned in them survived. Most were released, certainly in the 1960s millions were released.
