Question by NAZMUL H: How can I go to Siberia from UK?
Hello, I’m an international masters student, studying in UK. I’m interested to visit Siberia (Town-Novosibirsk, Mezdhurechensk) during my holiday. So, do I need to apply for a Russian tourist visa? If yes, then is that okay to travel to Siberia or I’ll need any more documents for traveling to Siberia.
I know how to apply for a Russian tourist visa. But I’m confused about traveling to Siberia whether Russian visa is okay to travel Siberia or I’ll need more papers.
I’ll be really so glad if someone can give me the right information. No time wasters please.

Siberia is just a part of Russia. In the same way that Cornwall – or any other area, East Anglia, the West Country, the North East, the North West, the Midlands etc – is part of the UK.
All you need is an ordinary tourist visa.
Do be aware that if you are transiting via sheremetyevo airport in Moscow you really should allow at least 3 or 4 hours to get from one terminal to another. It’s nothing like changing terminals at Heathrow.

As Siberia is in Russia, you only need a 30-day tourist visa. To obtain a visa, you firstly need a invite (easily obtainable from realrussia.co.uk or waytorussia.net). This is a good guide – http://www.waytorussia.net/Travel/VisaSupport.htm… .Complete your application and apply at the Russian embassy in London in person, or pay for a visa company to handle it (I've used realrussia many times).
I would contact the Embassy before applying and ask if they will issue visas to non-British citizens in Britain – http://www.russialink.org.uk/embassy/ .Some Russian consulates abroad won't.
