How do you remove a round from the chamber of an ak-47 rifle?

Question by Johnny: How to remove a round from the chamber of an ak47?
Just purchased an wasr ak47 from a buddy. The ak47 is currently in the 10 day wait. I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove a round from the chamber without stripping the rifle. Just getting some facts from the Internet and that question didn’t seemed to get answered. I know for a handgun it’s as easy as cocking back the slide. If anyone can help your answers are appreciated.

If it isn’t ejected after following Reb’s advice, lock the charging handle back. Take a brass cleaning rod and insert it into the muzzle, forcing the round backwards. A small diameter wooden dowel will also work, but everyone should have a brass cleaning rod as part of a basic cleaning kit.

    Here’s how:

    1. Put it on safe.
    2. Point in safe direction.
    3. Remove magazine.
    4. Rack action.
    5. Visually inspect that chamber is clear.

Remove the magazine and pull back the charging handle and then visually inspect the chamber.
