Question by Phil A: How long were the Romanov family in power ?
Was Ivan the Terrible the first Romanov ? I know Nicholas II was the last when he was deposed in 1917 by the Reds.

Michael Romanov was the first Romanov Tsar in 1613. So the dynasty lasted 304 years.

Oddly enough, in 1913, just one year before the start of the Great War, the dynasty celebrated its 300th year anniversary. The Tsar was at his peak of popularity, and nobody could have imagined it would all come tumbling down in just a few short years.
