Question by miss foodie: How old are Anna and Count Vronsky in Anna Karenina?
Does Tolstoy ever say…? Or any guesses…?

I don’t recall an age being given for either. I put Anna at about 24-26 and Vronsky just shy of 30.
Anna has a young son, who I assume she had within the first few years of her marriage to Karenin. She was probably 18 or so when she got married and her son was only 4 or 5 at the beginning of the novel.
Vronsky has to be old enough to be accomplished in his military career, but not so old he’s not a desirable match (Kitty wants him desperately).
