Question by Buenos D: Compare & contrast Tsars AlexanderIII & NicholasII w/ the oppression under Soviet rulers from Lenin – Brezhnev
Im having a hard time getting my paper going and I have lots of books I checked out to do my paper. I just need someone to help me get me started.

You clearly haven’t opened those books because Lenin didn’t oppress anyone. In fact, he was moving Russia towards greater freedom before he suffered a series of strokes that led to his death in early 1924. He describes his political plan quite clearly in “The State and Revolution.” He was unable to implement his policies due to war and failing health. Any policy that allowed greater freedom that Lenin did put in place was removed by Stalin who became General Secretary of the Communist Party in 1922, around the time of Lenin’s first stroke.
