Question by Liberal AssKicker: If Communists don’t systematically repress Jews, why did so many flee the country in the 80s?
Jews have never felt the need to “flee” America.
Why, during Glasnost and Parastroika, did Jews feel the need to emigrate to Israel and elsewhere by the hundreds of thousands?

It took years and years for Russian Jews to get out and move to Israel. Under communism, they weren’t allowed to freely practise their faith at all.

Communism certainly DID repress Jews; not sure where you are getting your facts from.
We don;t feel the need to flee America because this country allows people to follow their faith (or lack thereof) as they wish. That's the whole reasoning behind separation of church and state – freedom OF religion or the right to worship or not as we choose.

Who ever said that the Soviets didn't repress Judaism? Of course they did. Nice straw man you constructed there.
