Russia was supporting Iran, what changed now? Ahmedinejad is accusing Medvedev of being the mouthpiece of Iran’s enemies.

I think they realise that having a nuclear-armed Islamic country staring at them just across the Caspian Sea is not such a great idea.

The Russian city of Astrakhan is not that far from Iran’s capital, just a short sailing trip across the Caspian.
