Question by Λα✝†✝ωΩ: Buenos Aires or Moscow?
I can earn A LOT more in Moscow as a British nanny than I can in Argentina. (£1000/week + accommodation in Russia. £1000/month (AT MOST) without accommodation)
Do I go for the money? I want to live in BOTH countries equally. The money is obviously an important aspect BUT I don’t want it to be the deciding factor.
Which city do you prefer?

Well, to start off, these two countries differ greatly.
Moscow is usually cold the whole year through with heavy snow while Argentina has a more temperate climate. Which type of weather can you live with? (Seeing as you’re British you’re probably used to the cold)
As for the people, Russians have a reputation for being strict, moody and having a “get down to business” attitude while South Americans including Argentinians are known for being more carefree and laid back. But this is just stereotyping, and doesn’t apply to the entire population, of course.
The cost of living in Argentina (save for maybe the biggest cities) is less cheaper than any city in Russia.
It’s a hard decision to make as both countries are beautiful in their own way. I hope you make the right one for yourself. 🙂

Moscow is very depressive 5 months a year – you cannot see the sun from November to March inclusive – better go to Buenos Aires.

you are exaggerating your wages. The average Nanny in Moscow with high Russian Education (that is very valued) earns about 1500-2000 max per month. No one will give you 4000-4500 pounds +living in MOscow..Most families that want their children learning english will send them to private Russian schools or they will have private tutors.

£1.000 are ARS 10.000. That’s a normal salary in Argentina, per month, nothing special but it’s a good salary.
Buenos Aires, in general terms, is a bit cheaper than Moscow but not very cheap. In Moscow, housing is really expensive but the rest of the things, as food and more is totally the same, almost there are not difference between Argentina and Russia.
I can say, don’t talk seriously the first answer, Sara is totally wrong. It’s ok, Moscow is really cold but Buenos Aires is also really cold, not as Russia but it’s cold.
It’s a bit less colder than London but some days there are no difference. Santiago and Buenos Aires are the coldest capitals in Latin America.
We can be as strict as Russians at work. If someone pays you, that person would expect a good service.
Argentinians are a bit stingy, so you have to be really good in your job. There is a popular phrase here: “Perfection doesn’t exist but excellence does and you must be excellent”.
Both are good options, that depends on you. Good luck.
